The Day we met Del Boy (Sir David Jason)

The Day we met Sir David Jason Aka Del Boy.
One cold January morning Patrick and Martin were Invited to Hartwell House in Aylesbury to meet the Comedy legend and award-winning serious actor Sir David Jason.
As we approached the grounds of Hartwell House we knew today was a special day as we arrived at the tall wrought Iron metal gates, entry was soon forthcoming once the name Sir David Jason was mentioned to security.
Hartwell House is a country house in the parish of Hartwell in Buckinghamshire, Southern England. The house is owned by the Ernest Cook Trust and has been a Historic House Hotel since 1989, in 2008 was leased to the National Trust. This Grade I listed house is Jacobean with a Georgian front and Rococo interiors, set in a picturesque landscaped park, and is most famous as the home of exiled French king Louis XVIII in the early 19th century.
We were shown to one of the amazing private rooms which was simply magnificent, with high ceilings, decorated covings, and fine art from the period.
We nervously set up all our equipment in readiness for the arrival of the man himself and we waited patiently with a nice cup of English breakfast tea provided by the helpful staff. The big paneled door slowly opened and there he was Sir David Jason accompanied by his delightful wife Gill who was obviously in charge ensuring Sir David was attended to in the correct manner.
Sir David sat down and within moments both Martin and myself felt immediately at ease, Sir David and Gill made us most welcome. After a good 15 minutes of light-hearted chat (Which will appear on our Youtube channel soon) and a few jokes thrown in, we started the interview with Jill watching and advising in the background.
Sir David was so generous with his time, telling us stories, and antidotes throughout his entire career and personal life, providing us with a few exclusive stories too.
After 80 minutes we completed the interview and Sir David continued to chat and made us both feel as if we had known him personally for years as if we were very good friends.
Sir David finished the day off by posing for some photographs and signing our script, photo's, and Sir David's autobiography which was a fine end to the day and a memorable experience both Martin will remember for a very long time.
Given Sir David's generosity with his time we have split the weekly Podcast into two parts which you can listen to FREE in Season Two episodes 27 and 28.
At the end of the day, we made our merry way home over the 120-mile ride we could not stop talking to each other about what had just happened, we both hope you enjoy the interview and join our YouTube channel for the soon-to-be-released Video broadcast of the entire interview uncut.
